Brewing a Dark Brown American Ale

Homebrew Beer Recipes
Dark…toasty, roasty, and hoppy. This dark brown American ale homebrew is a perfect cool weather beer!
Basic recipe:
2-row malt – 77.5%
Munich malt – 6.5%
Kiln Coffee (or pale chocolate) malt – 7%
Carafa Special III – 2%
Crystal 75 – 7%
Mash @ 152F / 65C for one hour
Mash out @ 168F / 75C
First wort hop Falconer’s Flight (10.2% AA) 42g and Horizon (12.8% AA) 21g; Horizon 42g and FF 21g at 10 minutes; 42g each of Horizon and FF at flameout.
Ferment at 68F, raising to 72F by end of fermentation to ensure complete attenuation.
