“Real food is seasonal, yet our society insists on having all flavors available at all times. But it’s the out-of-season time that makes ripe, off-the-vine taste more appealing. It’s the eleven months of unavailability that makes just-picked food so delicious. Sadly, we’re out of sync with the seasonal nature of food, and we’ve forgotten that real food is wonderful.” (excerpt from my book, Sweet Maple)
