The Complete Guide to Brewing Kombucha | Making Kombucha at Home

Homebrew Kombucha
In this video you will learn how to brew your own Kombucha at home. Kombucha tea is a fermented drink made with tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast. Although it’s sometimes referred to as kombucha mushroom tea, kombucha is not a mushroom — it’s a colony of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY: Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). Kombucha tea is made by adding the colony to sugar and tea, and allowing the mix to ferment. Kombucha is a probiotic heavy beverage that promotes good gut health. This video highlights all of the utensils and items you will need in order to ferment your first batch of Kombucha.

You’ll learn how to source a SCOBY and how to brew the tea in which the SCOBY is submerged.

Next, you’ll learn about the second-fermentation stage process which explains how to bottle, flavor and store your Kombucha.

I also highlight things people do that can ruin your Kombucha. We also discuss safe practices and how to prevent bad bacteria growth.

All instructions and measurements are included in the video.
