Making Kombucha at home, fresh, organic and easy.

Kombucha Ingredients

I use the continuous brew method and I brew in an 8 litre tapped jar, I brew a (generous) 4 litre of new tea each time, but always level around ½ a litre in the jar each brew, as the starter for the next batch.

What you will need:

• 2 good sized scoby’s (if this is your first time brewing, you will re-use your scoby’s each brew)
• A very large jug, bowl or saucepan (Ideally not metal)
• A good size spoon (again ideally not metal)
• Measuring jug
• Widemouth funnel (optional)

• 4 Litres of boiled water (filtered if possible)
(I use organic for the following – optional)
• 350-400g Raw sugar (first brew I do at 400g, subsequent brew, around 350g)
• 12 tea bags (Combination to suit taste)
o Black Tea Bags (I mostly use 5)
o Green Tea Bags (I mostly use 7)

SWEET TEA MIXTURE MUST COOL IN MIXING BOWL BEFORE YOU POOR IT INTO YOUR JAR ….. NEVER POUR BOILING WATER INTO YOU GLASS JAR OR ONTO YOU SCOBY.
