Single Hop (Mosaic) Double IPA – 20 Pound Grain Bill!

Homebrew Beer Recipes
In this brewing video, we’re making a Single Hop Mosaic Double IPA (or Imperial IPA) with a 20 pound grain bill. People have been asking us if our 10.5 gallon brew in a bag system can make big beers. To answer that question we made this brewing video which involves sparging water after the mash is over. Sparging is an important technique for any homebrewer to learn, its very simply and only involves rinsing the grain in order to extract more sugars. To give this beer a unique Mosaic hop aroma and flavor, we add a bunch of Mosaic hops at the start of the boil and then more at the end. The yeast we used to ferment this beer was Lallemand’s Dry – 97 yeast, we used two packs. This double IPA recipe is a perfect beer to take to a cookout, game day party, tailgate, or any kind of gathering with friends. Who doesn’t like a double IPA? We also recommend pairing this with some juicy steaks, hamburgers, french fries, hot dogs, or any other food that’s just as big as this beer is. Check out the resources below for a full recipe, brewing equipment, and an educational article about why Mosaic hops are so popular.
