1. Steep the Root Beer botanicals for 15 minutes (sasarparilla, fennel, cinnamon bark, chicory root, juniper & more).
2. OPTIONAL – caramelize 1/3 cup of the Demerara Sugar. This helps enrich the color and complexity of the finished soda.
3. Add the Maltodextrin, remaining Demerara, salt & caramelized sugar to the botanical “tea” and boil to combine.
4. Let completely cool for 30 minutes before adding vanilla extract.
5. Transfer your syrup into a container.
