Homebrewing Basics 🍻 Part 2

Homebrew Kombucha
We’ve noticed a lot new faces around here (likely because you got one of our kits for Christmas). So we’re kicking off the new year by covering some of our most frequently asked questions 🍻
Fermentation is everywhere – it’s how we make bread, wine, kombucha, yogurt & more! What makes fermentation possible? Yeast 🦠 It’s a microbe (technically a fungus). Beer and wine yeasts ‘eat’ sugars (from grains, fruit juice or honey), converting them into alcohol and carbon dioxide. The yeast in a kombucha SCOBY convert sugars into tangy probiotic acids and CO2.
