Eliane Miles: “I made one batch turned out really well. I tried to make this second batch and I made this mistake of taking this Scobie, which if you don’t know what a Scobie is, is that the mound of bacteria? I put it on the kitchen counter as I was cleaning out the, the, the glass jar to put it back in with the tea and the, the sugar and everything and that second bat, it just went absolutely filthy. I mean, it was like mold infested and it was such a great example to me of like what happens when just a small amount of contamination connects with culture because the longer and like the that you put off recreating and like doing something new, the worse it gets. And then once it gets to that point where you’ve had some contamination, you’ve got to throw the whole thing out and start fresh with redefining your values, starting again with what are we actually doing here? What’s important to us? What direction are we going in? And unless you do that work, you can’t create a healthy culture again.
