We often get asked by homebrewers how to increase the ABV (alcohol by volume) of some of our popular beer recipe kits. NB’s Charlie Madison explains how boosting the original gravity of your brew will get you the alcohol you’re looking for, but you also need to keep the balance of the beer in mind when adjusting recipes. We look at some ways to bump up the gravity (and ABV) and discuss an example recipe for showing the importance of maintaining the beer’s balance.
