How to Make All Grain Beer – Brew in a Bag – Blonde Ale Recipe

Looking to make the jump to all grain brewing but don’t want to spend a ton of money on equipment? The brew in a bag method may be just what you’re looking for. It requires minimal equipment, is inexpensive to get started, and keeps your brew days shorter than other all grain methods.

Recipe for 6 gallons to fermenter:

Water:
9.45 gallons RO water
5.2 g CaCl2
5.4 g Epsom Salt
5.3 g Gypsum
2 ml Lactic Acid

Grains:
7lbs 3.4 oz Pilsner Malt
1lb 7.7 oz Vienna Malt
7.9 oz Victory Malt
7.9 oz White Wheat
3.2 oz CaraPils

Mash @ 152 for 60 minutes
Boil 60 minutes

Hops:
1 oz Cascade @ 60 minutes
.5 oz Cascade @ 10 minutes
.5 oz Simcoe @ 10 minutes

Dry hop with 1 oz Citra for 3 days after fermentation is complete

Yeast:
1 package Imperial Yeast Flagship @ 64 degrees
Raise to 72 towards the end of fermentation

Misc:
1 Whirlfloc tablet @ 15 minutes
1 tsp yeast nutrient @ 15 minutes
