Hey folks, in this film I’ll be making a raspberry and rhubarb hard cider using the turbo cider method, which involves using apple juice from concentrate, rather than actual apples. In this brew I combine apple juice with a bottle of Robinson’s Raspberry and Rhubarb Cordial, some strong tea, four sticks of rhubarb, pectolase, 250g brewing sugar, spring water and Lalvin EC1118 yeast.
The brew ferments for a month, it ends very clear, at which point I rack and bottle it in champagne bottles with some brewing sugar. I leave it to condition for a month before opening, at which point it is extremely lively, very sparkling and gassy. The flavour is medium-dry and is very fruity. I really enjoyed this drink and will absolutely make it again in future, cheers!
