Old School IPA with Cascade and Amarillo Grain to Glass Homebrew Recipe

Homebrew Beer Recipes
Do you ever want to kick it old school? Do you ever wonder what happened to classic hops like Cascade and Amarillo? Do you ever wonder what happened to Two and a Half Pints Homebrew? Well this video will answer all of those questions!

RECIPE 6 Gallon/27 Liter homebrew batch *WITH CAVEATS*

Mash Water Profile
Ca 90ppm Mg 8ppm Na 32ppm SO4 157ppm Cl 45ppm pH 5.3

50% Pilsner Malt
50% Golden Promise Pale Ale Malt

Mash at 149F / 65C for 75 min

30 min 1oz/28g Cascade (6%AA)
20 min 1oz/28g Cascade
10 min 1oz/28g Cascade
Flameout 1oz/28g each Cascade and Amarillo
Whirlpool 1oz/28g Cascade 4oz/112g Amarillo

Omega British Ale V Yeast

Dry Hop 3oz/84g each Cascade and Amarillo

*BREWER’S NOTE* This recipe ended up being too intense with the late addition hops, possibly due to the yeast strain biotransforming various oils? Waaaayyy too much lemon citrus at first. A wiser, revised boil schedule would be:

60 min 1oz/ 28g Cascade
30 min 1oz/28 g Cascade
10 min 1oz/28g Cascade
Flame out 1oz/28g each Cascade and Amarillo

This cuts down the hot-side additions by half

If you made it this far, the entire video is a fabrication. An act, put on for you, the viewer. The real reason we didn’t post is because we were busy and I had brain problems that needed sorting out.
