This is a beginner’s guide to brewing beer. It features an electric all in one brewing system and covers the entire brewing process, step by step. Libby, a new and inexperienced brewer, is joined by expert brewmaster Kyle brown, who shows her tips and tricks to make great beer.

As the warm air started to crisp, we were regretting not having an Oktoberfest brewed to enjoy this fall. Libby has filmed and edited several brew days, but has only brewed one on her own, and none on our All in One System. This was the perfect opportunity for her to learn and use the new system, brew one of our recipe kits, and provide us with a delicious Oktoberfest just in time for fall.

Traditional Märzens take months to ferment, but with this recipe kit, you’ll have it brewed, fermented, and ready to drink in just 2 weeks. The secret? Using US-05 American ale yeast instead of lager yeast, which skips the long, cold fermentation but still gives that rich, malty Märzen flavor. This is technically a Märzen style, but we promise, it drinks just like a traditional Märzen.

How to Make the Perfect Pour-Over Coffee at Home

Making pour-over coffee doesn’t have to be complicated. In this video, I’ll show you my simple method using a Chemex, 20 grams of coffee, and 300 grams of hot water to brew a smooth, clean, and balanced cup for one.

Here’s the recipe:
• 20g coffee, coarsely ground (like sea salt)
• 300g water at ~200°F (93°C)
• Brew time: about 2 minutes

Steps:
1. Rinse your filter and warm your server, then discard the water.
2. Add 20g of coffee to the filter.
3. Start with 100g of water, pouring in slow circles from the center outward. Let it bloom for 30 seconds as CO₂ escapes and aromas rise.
4. Add another 100g, wait 30 seconds, then finish with the last 100g.
5. Total brew time is about 2:10 for a clean, flavorful cup.

I’m using my iKape V2 Pro coffee scale, which connects to my phone via Bluetooth for real-time feedback. But any coffee scale with a timer will work just fine.

Whether you’re new to pour-over or want to refine your technique, this is an easy way to get café-quality coffee at home.

Try it and let me know how your brew turns out in the comments!
